Target Audience
Audience.
My initial target audience for the film was a young audience ranging from 24-40 year olds, this is because thriller in previous cinema have had ratings most 12A or 15. I thought this due to the themes of which my film lies on, these films depicted psychosis and the gravity of murder all of which revolve in a young society. These themes in the film I first thought would only be appropriate to an older audience.

However due to the exposer to real life issues and themes shown in my film my target audience eventually started t change to younger audience. The reason for my change to a younger target audience was because of the Sixth Sense huge success with a younger, the film was rated as a PG. This opened the doors to a new audience which brought the films huge success.
After looking through the different audiences for thrillers I decided to a younger audience of around 15 - 24 year olds. I thought this due to the younger cast and location I which a younger audience could relate to e.g. a school and the younger society which we can all conform to.
However as the project went on and became more developed I concluded that this would be the best choice.
For my final decision on target audience a large reason for the final choice was due to the exposure that to my particular audience have through social media and the internet, this is what many film institutions use to reach their target audience.
I also surveyed my target audience with a series of questions to give me an idea of what my target audience wanted in my media product. This I feel would make my media product more appealing to the target audience I chose
